The first match of the 2002/03 ladies small field playoff series was the most interesting of the whole event. Dessau lead nearly all the matchtime, but the sporting community of Grasleben and Braunschweig, the champions from the Niedersachsen Ladies League could tie the score short before the finish of the regular match duration after hitting the opponent's goal cage several times.
Though Dessau had definitely the better ones, both teams had the chance to score in overtime. In the eigth minute of overtime, Braunschweig/Grasleben could score after a fast break and qualified for the final.
