Braunschweig seemed to be able to control the match, getting back from a 0-1 behind and manage to be 4:1, 6:2 and 9:5 in the lead. Flensburg did a marvelous battle scoring three goals in sixty seconds to make the score to 9-8. Unfortunately, they had a lack of time, just eighty seconds to play left, so they were unable to get a point for an even match they would have deserved.
