My first time reporting from a Swiss League match. Chur hosted Rychenberg from Winterthur, which
was also a great deal for me because I met injured former German Premier League player Jann Andrea "Jantschi"
Roffler and was able to watch my favourite Swiss team at own ground. Of course, Rychenberg was
a strong opponent, who seemed to guarantee a great battle.
The match started very well, both teams had their chances, but Chur took the lead and took it
until the first break. In the beginning of second half, they score the 2-0 powerplay lead, controlled the match
but played too unconcentrated and wasted it by getting three goals in a row. Engel tied the score
by a penalty shot shortly before the end of the second period.
In third half, Rychenberg tried to put their opponents under pressure, but did not manage to do
that properly, so that Chur took the lead again in 48th minute. Instead of keeping pressure
on their opponents they now started to play too defensively, which was somehow like waiting for
their opponents to score. Rychenberg said thanks and scored twice in ten seconds in 55th minute.
The final 6-4 goal was an empty-netter in the last minute.
Chur controlled most time of the match but were not clever enough to get the merit for that.
Rychenberg was slightly lucky to win, but that's sport!
