Germany - Switzerland U19 2:4 (1:0, 0:2, 1:2)

The Swiss Under 19 Ladies team were definitely the favourites in this first match of the German four-nations-tournament in Naunhof at April, 23rd, 2005. Germany defended extremely well so that most of the Swiss attacks did not have a chance to score. On the other hand, Germany fulfilled one of their dangerous offense plays by taking the lead. After that, they still could defend their goal well and held the lead until the first break. They were even able to keep it for a long time in second half though the Swiss team put much pressure on them, but nevertheless the guests scored twice in the 36th and 40th minute and took the lead.
Third half started with Germany's Katja Timmel wasting a penalty shot. But during the following power play, her team could tie the score again. The Swiss girls found the weak spot in the German defense again in 49th minute and scored the 2:3 goal. With 90 seconds to go, Germany took out their goalie, but lost the ball immediately afterwards, so that the Swiss could easily decide the good match by an empty net hitter.
