Men's Doubles, Round 1: Leander Paes/Martin Damm - Petr Pala/Robin Vik 6:1 6:2

My original onsite fanclub report from www.sports-india.com:

First set is an easy sum-up: Petr Pala and Robin Vik made four points ... in the first four games. Lee and Martin played incredible doubles tennis, maybe one of the best I have ever seen, very flexible, huge pressure and sometimes even traditional, as they used the Australian formation very often and even kept it with Leander running from side by side and Martin Damm staying at the baseline. It was just a great performance. In the fifth game, Martin Damm got into problems holding his serve after he and Lee estimated two shots to go out of bounds, but they hit inside. Nevertheless, Damm managed to raise the score to 5-0 after Pala and Vik had one break point. Lee and Martin had double break point / set point in the next game at 15:40 and another one at Ad Return, but Petr Pala stood the pressure and made the only game for his team in that set, as Leander just had minor problems to slam that thing home.
Second set started with a break against Pala's serve. While Leander was the dominating player in the first set (and Damm was "just" very good), Martin Damm showed incredible doubles tennis in second set now. Our guys did not have any major problems to hold the lead, though they played a tiny bit worse in the middle of second set - before they finished the match off by breaking Vik's serve again. In the final game of the match, Martin Damm showed an incredible powerful smash while running to the back, which was again one of many doubles tennis highlights of a great Indian-Czech doubles team.
